The Syncro 4-way conventional zone module provides a cost effective solution to system upgrades, where a number of conventional detection zones need to be supported by the Syncro panel in addition to the analogue addressable detection devices. Up to 32 Syncro 4-way conventional zone modules may be connected to each Syncro or Syncro AS control panel, providing support for up to 128 conventional detection zones per Syncro panel. The zone cards utilise RS485 data communications and may be installed up to 1200m away from the panel (using suitable data cable). Each Syncro 4-way conventional zone module has four independently monitored conventional detection zones (short circuit and open circuit monitoring), two independent 1 Amp rated fully monitored sounder outputs, a volt free Fire relay, Fault relay and an input to monitor a remote power supply. All inputs and outputs are configurable using the intuitive Syncro Loop Explorer configuration program. Each zone may have a 40 character location message allocated and may be mapped to any of the 500 detection zones supported by Syncro and Syncro AS panels. The inputs and outputs may be controlled either via the simple “default ring” patterns or by comprehensive cause and effect logic. In the unlikely event that there is a loss of data between the panel and the 4-way conventional zone card, then it will work “stand alone” in a default condition, whereby a fire on any of the four zones will result in both sounder circuits and the fire contact operating continuously.
