At the beginning of this year we decided that we would nominate Pieta House as our company ‘Charity of the Year’. The team in Northwood Technology have really embraced the idea of raising funds for this very worthy cause. We have already completed some of our activities but there are lots more to come.
In January we started it all off when Paul completed the first run of the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge on New Year’s Day. He then went on to complete each of the other runs in Raheny, Dawson Street, St Anne’s Park and the Phoenix Park over the first few months of the year.
In April Glen put on his trainers and completed the 10k Night Run in Dublin city in great time. A few weeks later it was already early May when some of Northwood Technology ladies got together for another event. Anne, Aoife, Elaine, Lana and Sinead got up before dawn to walk in the ‘Darkness into Light’ event in the Phoenix park. This is a very special event for Pieta House and we were delighted to be part of it.
We have yet more events to come for the remainder of the year with many of the Northwood team taking part. Some of our upcoming events are still in the discussion phase while others are already booked and training is well under way.
In July Paul will cycle in the Ring of Kerry, all 112 miles of stunning scenery will fly by for him and the many other cyclists that will take part. Training is well underway for Glen as he will first compete in the Iron Man, followed by the Half Marathon in September and then in October the Dublin Marathon.
We have a target of €2,000 to raise and are well on our way. If you would like to support our efforts and a great cause, click on our fundraising link
